Rules & Gameplay
Our rules are based on the Poker Tournament Directors Association (TDA), with adjustments to suit local regulations and our operational standards in Perth.
GENERAL RULES
🎯 Player Responsibilities
- Protect your hand at all times
- Act only when it’s your turn
- Make your actions clear (verbal or chips)
- Keep chips visible and in clean stacks
- Stay at the table when you have a live hand
- Speak up if you notice an error
♠ Acting & Betting
- Verbal actions are binding (call, raise, fold, all-in)
- Chips placed forward = committed to the pot
- You must act in turn — acting out of turn may be penalised
- String betting (multiple movements) is not allowed
- Oversized chip without saying “raise” = call
- Minimum raise must match the previous raise amount
- Saying an amount = same as putting chips in
- All-ins must be clearly declared or pushed in one motion
🃏 Showdown Rules
- You must table both cards to win
- If you muck your hand, it is dead
- All hands must be shown in all-in situations
- The last player to bet must show first. If no bet was made, the first player to act shows first.
⏱️ Timing & Pace of Play
- Players must act in a reasonable time
- The clock can be called if a player is taking too long
- A shot clock may be in use, with time limits set for each tournament
- If a decision is not made within the allocated time, a time bank will be automatically collected by the dealer
- If no time banks remain: Facing a bet → hand is folded No bet → hand is checked
🚫 Fair Play Rules
- One player per hand (no advice or discussion)
- No collusion or cheating
- No use of apps, charts, or assistance tools
- Respect all players and staff at all times
- English only at the table
⚖️ Final Decisions
- All rulings by dealers and tournament staff are final
- Decisions are made to protect fairness and game integrity
